About this wine

Viña Ventisquero Queulat Carménère is a rich and expressive Chilean red, showcasing deep violet hues and aromas of blackberries, cherries, and dark chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and layered with ripe cherry, plum, and fine spice, supported by soft tannins and a smooth, harmonious finish. Subtle hints of chocolate and spice linger long after the last sip. A perfect match for grilled meats, hearty stews, or smoky barbecue.

Producer: Vina Ventisquero

Viña Ventisquero was founded in the late 1990s by Gonzalo Vial and has quickly gone on to become one of the countries top wine producers. With a winery based in the coastal Maipo Valley the estate sources grapes from the prestigious Casablanca, Leyda, Colchagua and Apalta Valley regions to produce a range of sought-after, awardwinning wines. Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère provide the backbone of the range produced by winemaker Felipe Tossa and consultants Aurelio Montes and ex-Penfolds winemaker, John Duval. Young, dynamic and innovative, the wines of Viña Ventisquero provide a captivating glimpse into the diversity of terroirs of this exciting wine nation.

Food pairing suggestions

Enjoy it best with pork dishes like roast pork, tenderloin, and pork chops. Smoked meats, blue cheese, mushrooms, onion, garlic, tomato, capsicum, and aromatic spices like anise, turmeric, saffron, fennel, and ginger bring out its richness.

It also pairs well with grilled or barbecued lamb, roasted chicken or duck, and cured meats such as salami and prosciutto. Creamy cheeses like brie and camembert, pasta, beans, peas, black pepper, fresh herbs, potatoes, and crusty bread complement the wine perfectly.
