About this wine

Prunotto Barolo ‘Bussia’ is a refined and powerful expression of this iconic DOCG. Garnet-hued, it opens with a complex bouquet of rose petals, tart red fruits, and subtle spice. The palate is full and velvety, showcasing ripe cherry, dried herbs, and earthy undertones, framed by firm yet elegant tannins. A classic Barolo with depth and structure, perfect for pairing with truffle risotto, slow-braised meats, or aged cheeses.

Producer: Prunotto

In 1904 a co-operative winery called Ai Vino Delle Langhe was founded and a young man who founded a young man who worked there was one Alfred Prunotto. Prunotto took over the estate in 1922, giving it his own name and today it is run under the umbrella of the famous Marchesi Antinori family. Located in Alba the estate tends around 50 hectares of vineyards throughout the Langhe and Monferrato and produces a range of fine wines from the heady Moscato d'Alba to delicious Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo. A the top end lie a range of single cru wines from Barolo, Barbaresco and the DOC's of Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba and Barbera d'Asti. Classic Piedmont wines produced with style by the Antinori family.

Food pairing suggestions

This wine is a perfect match for rich red meats like beef, lamb, and venison, especially grilled, barbecued, or roasted. Aged cheeses like cheddar and parmesan, along with dishes seasoned with black pepper or smoky flavours, complement it beautifully.

It also pairs beautifully with grilled or barbecued pork, smoked meats, and cured cuts like salami and prosciutto. Mushrooms, tomato-based dishes, garlic, roasted capsicum, pasta, potatoes, and crusty bread make excellent matches.
