About this wine
Argiano Rosso di Montalcino is a vibrant Tuscan red, bursting with fresh red berry aromas, citrus lift, and a touch of delicate spice. The palate is lively and harmonious, with bright acidity and a balanced structure that makes it an ideal match for pork, red meats, cured meats, poultry, and cheeses. Perfect alongside tomato and mushroom-based dishes—try it with a Tuscan mushroom and tomato stew.

Villa Argiano lay claim to being the oldest wine estate in Montalcino, located below Saint'Angelo in Colle, some 8km from the famous wine town. Built in 1581 the Villa passed through many sets of hands over the centuries and in 1992, the current owner Noemi Marone Cinzano purchased the property. In the past the renown consultant, Giacomo Tachis, the man behind Sassacaia, was involved in the project and the Bordeaux varieties were planted but today Bordeaux-trained winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers holds the reins. The estates range of wines is superb and includes Suolo, their silky Sangiovese and stunning Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino.

This wine is a perfect match for rich red meats like beef, lamb, and venison, especially grilled, barbecued, or roasted. Aged cheeses like cheddar and parmesan, along with dishes seasoned with black pepper or smoky flavours, complement it beautifully.
It also pairs beautifully with grilled or barbecued pork, smoked meats, and cured cuts like salami and prosciutto. Mushrooms, tomato-based dishes, garlic, roasted capsicum, pasta, potatoes, and crusty bread make excellent matches.
