About this wine
Alamos Malbec is a bold and vibrant red from Mendoza’s high-altitude vineyards, offering rich aromas of ripe red fruits and delicate florals. The palate reveals juicy raspberry, dark chocolate, and subtle sweet spice, balanced by silky tannins and a smooth, lingering finish. A classic Argentine Malbec, perfect with grilled meats, hearty stews, or a traditional asado.

Producer: Catena Zapata
Nicola Cantena planted his first Malbec vineyard in Mendoza in 1902 and today the estate is run by Nicholás Cantena and his daughter Laura. Malbec continues to be the estate's focus and the winery's pristine vineyards lie at the base of the Andes on soils of sand, lime and stone at altitudes between 920 and 1120 metres above sea level. Over the last 20 years, the fastidious vineyard work of Nicholas and Laura has paid dividends and Catena Zapata is now one of Argentina's most famous estates. Lush, beautifully crafted wines are what you can expect for Catena Zapata.

Food pairing suggestions
This wine is a perfect match for rich red meats like beef, lamb, and venison, especially grilled, barbecued, or roasted. Aged cheeses like cheddar and parmesan, along with dishes seasoned with black pepper or smoky flavours, complement it beautifully.
It also pairs beautifully with grilled or barbecued pork, smoked meats, and cured cuts like salami and prosciutto. Mushrooms, tomato-based dishes, garlic, roasted capsicum, pasta, potatoes, and crusty bread make excellent matches.
